Keywords:

Based on the pedagogical “Agreement for Discretion” proposal, a research study is developed on the media consumption habits prevailing among young 11th-12th grade students who, due to their economical position, enjoy more opportunities of accessing to information, media and communication means in the city of Bogota. The study imposes the critical analysis made by youths on the contents and the language used by the media in their different information and entertainment genres. Finally, the viability of the audience-education line of the La Sabana University, Faculty of Social Communication and Journalism Media Observatory (“Observatorio de Medios de la Facultad de Comunicación Social y Periodismo de la Universidad de La Sabana”) is evidenced as a social project for the shaping of a more critical public opinion.
