Abstract

This article is divided into three parts. The concepts related to a critical analysis of the discourse and archeology of knowledge are developed in the first part, with an emphasis on the main characteristics and conceptual elements proposed by different authors who subscribe to those approaches. The second part offers a qualitative analysis of the differences and similarities between both approaches. Finally, the third part offers conclusion on both approaches to discourse analysis as applied to a study of society.
