Abstract

The new digital environment that develops journalism requires ethical standards adapted to the new space. The purpose of this study is to determine the major ethical challenges facing the press. We analyze the reader´s defender´s articles of El País newspaper daily reference in Spain in terms of self-regulation, to address issues of digital publishing from 2004-2014. The analysis of these items show four major areas: 1) own the journalistic work and error management in that area, 2) advertising management, 3) managing the right to oblivion and 4) participation of citizens in the newspaper
