Remediation and Narcological Patterns Stories of Aliens in the Media Culture

Abstract

In this work the representation of aliens is analyzed in a recent group of franchises, media and transmedia to describe recurring patterns and interpret them in the current cultural context. The hypothesis is the preeminence ofesoteric image of aliens in them as a result of a mythological hypotext result of a folk processed and updated in the transmedia. Media communication channel would broadcast these neomyths. To do this, it is assumed as a comparative analysis of different franchises narratological method to detect recurring patterns. The conclusions concerning the leitmotiv of conspiracy theories and millenarian interpretations, environmental or neo-euhemerization reception in the different groups. The encoded symbols are hybridization and an update of traditional myths, in esoteric direction indicated, proposing new readings to issues such as the origin of life, the environment and the control of resources and a transnational setting that favors neo-mythology entertainment industries but also alternative cultural trends.
