Keywords:

The article shows the results of a research carried out on how prestigious press media made in Colombia approach matters relating to criminality and justice, the good handling of wich should be a matter of utmost importance particularly where, like in Latin American countries, the indexes of corruption, common deliquency and organized crime are high. This analysis focused on six of the most important Colombian newspapers among wich poor interest was noticed in topics dealing with justice, along with a dangerous tendency to publish information without quoting or involving the sources, thus lacking credibility. The author highlights the fact that these media seem to be solely concerned with precedents and the consequences of the facts they present, with no clear intention of guiding the public opinion on subjects that, do to their particular mature and specificity, do necessarily require an introductory explanation and further analysis to be digested and discerned in a proper light by the information recipients.
