Abstract

The risk factors as much as the actors which threaten the liberty of Press in Colombia, are an important study subject that we must take into account as a priority because the problem is critical. This article tends to go ahead on studying the problem, through a special analysis, focused on the actors and factors (distributed by regions) that more seriously affect the liberty of Press. In that way we are trying to furnish good elements in order to handle a deeper study on this subject. This study will provide solid conclusions about the most important risk factors for the liberty of Press in each region; and it will also give us pertinent, possible and effective recommendations, either for journalists or for the National and Local Government. Tendencies and observations we register here are taken from a research made at the early 2003 by La Sabana University Media Observatory, and also from the information compiled by the Democratic Association for Human Rights Defense (ASDEH in Spanish) during 2002.
