Abstract

In order to have a clear and objective point of view regarding the discussion about the program called "Soap Opera's Stars"-as well as about the spread of 'reality shows' in Colombian television- it's been made an analysis of this program's texts and contents, trying to define it through its reality, fiction and show properties. The analysis units and the study of their treatment gave a high result regarding human beings' emotions. These emotions, related to the fact of living together, are performed as a show with some fiction helps, but without their fundamental mediator: the actor. As a consecuence, there is no posibility of treating deeply, seriously and ethically some important subjects such these. The result is a simple format only used to get high rating levels, and belonging more to that called "trash" television, than to a human or social reality search.

Comunicadora social y periodista de la Universidad de La Sabana. Ha sido productora de varias novelas y series de la televisión colombiana. Actualmente se desempeña como docente de las cátedras de Cine y Televisión de la Universidad de la cual es egresada.
