Abstract

The importance of television, as a complex means and as a member of the so-called multimedia affects the system of the Right of Information. Even though, through the Law Principles, there are stabilizing elements which refer lo subjects and messages that must have introduced specific rules which concern television, being considered as a mass medium and through programming it becomes information means as well. In any case, if Law is able lo manage its positive aspects and its dangers; television is a great means lo make the natural Right lo Information efficient.

José María Desantes, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Es doctor en Derecho de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Licenciado en Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad de Navarra. Doctor en Ciencias de la Información de la misma Universidad. Profesor Invitado en diversas universidades europeas y suramericanas. Autor de varios libros entre los que figuran: Prensa, Paz, violencia y terrorismo, La función de informar, La cáusula de conciencia, Fundamentos de derecho de la información, Información y derecho: la identidad del informador frente al derecho de la información, EI futuro de los profesionales de la Información ,Teoría y técnica de la investigación cientifica. Se ha hecho merecedor de las siguientes condecoraciones: Víctor de Plata al Premio Nacional Fin de Carrera. Gran Cruz del Mérito Civil, Venera Académica del Instituto Nacional de Publicidad, Medalla de Servicios a la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
