A Short History of Film: Sergio Salinas, a Promoter of the Film Culture in Chile

The film critic Sergio Salinas claims there are no art films, but rather art “spaces" that encourage reflective and critical cinema appreciation. This essay reviews three such spaces developed by Salinas himself in Santiago de Chile: the Nexus Film Club and the art house theaters Toesca and Normandie.
