Abstract

This article is the result of a study on self-representation of the image of Andalusia and the Andalusian people based on fictional production shown via the Internet. The Andalusian audiovisual scene has changed dramatically in the last two decades and the people of Andalusia are beginning to tell their own stories. Consequently, it is important to determine if the traditional stereotypes consolidated for centuries in literature and film are still being portrayed. With that objective in mind, the study uses a qualitative method that features a textual analysis based on the configuration of a series of variables representative of the stereotyped image of the Andalusian people.
